Notre Dame

Today, we walked to Notre Dame, which is on an island in the middle of the Siene.  It was another beautiful walk through the city.

As expected, Isaac loudly sang "The Bells of Notre Dame" from the Disney movie as we approached.

The beautiful and creepy gargoyles faithfully scare off evil spirits.

The inside was gorgeous.  The pictures to not adequately convey the intricacies of the architecture.

Of course, it is still an active Catholic Church today.  It must be distracting sitting through mass with hundreds of swarming tourists taking pictures everywhere.  Not to mention the little gift shop stands right next to the sanctuary.  (Priestcrafts!  Just kidding, I was happy to find a Notre Dame Christmas ornament.)

I wish the pictures could convey just how cold it was today.  It was well under freezing, and there was a winter wind advisory.  I certainly see the appeal of Paris in the spring.

Working from Paris is going well.  This week, one of my average-sized clients is signing a deal worth several million dollars, making them our biggest client.  This means I have a HUGE project to manage from Paris.  Thankfully, our product manager lives an hour east of here, so he is coming Monday.  Big projects like this are why I love my job.

  1. That was one of my favorite places in Paris. So if you have a big project there, does that mean you are going to get to go back more often?

  2. I wish, but the product owner in France comes to Raleigh a lot, so he will be in the US when I get back.
